Fire Boots Auxilliary
Volunteer Auxiliary Group
Are you looking to help, but don't necessarily want to become an emergency responder? Some community volunteers may wish to share their talents and energy by contributing to the IHFR's Fire Boots.
The auxiliary, Fire Boots, is composed of community members who support the department through fundraising, special projects, administrative assistance, public education and outreach, as well as other non-emergency roles.
Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at various locations, often at member's houses. We are always looking for new members, so come join us! We welcome any ideas on how to support our local fire department and the community it serves.
Volunteer opportunities
Every year the IHFR Boots raises funds for education and equipment for our volunteer firefighters that goes beyond the annual budget. Our greatest fundraising events and need for volunteers are:
- Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast
- Fun Run
- Movie in the Park
- Big Chili (September)
In addition are various other opportunities
- Boots merchandise booth sales for special events
- IHFR responders family dinner night - set up and serve dinner to your local heros and their families (every 5th Tuesday)
- Awards Banquet- set up, decorate, create hordevours and desserts
- Educational events and outreach
- Incident Support Volunteers - people willing to provide sustenance to our volunteer firefighters during an emergency situation when they are unable to break away.
